Death Literacy
A grounded understanding of death, dying, and bereavement — across cultures, theologies, and lived experiences.
Professional Formation
A formation program for those called to walk alongside the grieving — grounded in womanist theology, death literacy, and the ethics of accompaniment.
Grief Companion Training is a formation program designed for those who feel called to accompany others through loss — chaplains, pastoral caregivers, counselors, community leaders, and anyone who has ever sat with someone in the dark and wanted to do it better.
This is not a clinical certification program. It is a formation experience — one that attends to the whole person of the companion, not just their skills. We believe that the quality of presence a companion brings is shaped by their own relationship to grief, to their body, and to the communities they serve.
Rooted in womanist pastoral theology and death literacy, this training equips companions to hold grief with theological depth, cultural humility, and embodied care.
A grounded understanding of death, dying, and bereavement — across cultures, theologies, and lived experiences.
Centering the experiences of Black and marginalized communities in grief care — because whose grief counts matters.
What it means to be present without fixing — to witness without managing — to accompany without leading.
Attending to your own grief, your own body, and your own formation as the foundation of your care for others.
